Thoughtful Reading:
Because we engage in advanced informational text, it is important to really understand the words, or we won't understand the main message. By drawing icons for each more advanced vocabulary word, were were able to look at the drawings, discuss the text, and then write about it without having to look back at the original text.

Our Virtual Museums:
Once we understood the four branches of oceanography, as well as the major ocean ecosystems, it was time to choose an ecosystem, a branch, and one organism found in the ecosystem. We did some research and then put our creative technological skills into action by putting together digital virtual museums of our research.

Then it was time to present our museums and organisms in class:
Our Ocean Ecosystem Organisms:
In addition to our digital virtual museums, we each created a model of our chosen organism. While we presented our digital museums in class, our audience enjoyed getting to see a creative model of each organism.
